Job description

decco is hiring Wave Solder Operators to work with our client located in Windsor, CT. These are long term opportunities with potential for temp to hire. These positions are on the day shift 7a-3:30p. Performs wave solder and final assembly of printed circuit boards. Must have a thorough understanding of the wave solder process and the equipment used to be able to make judgments concerning good and bad solder joints. Evaluates results of wave soldering process to ensure process control. Ensures compliance to Foxtronics’ wave solder procedures. Understands safety issues related to wave soldering. Must be able to perform repetitive assembly tasks with accuracy and dexterity. Must be able to read and understand engineering documentation.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize workload and prepare for the start of the shift.

  • Review process documentation for any special requirements.

  • Perform tasks as directed by the supervisor of assembly touch-up.

  • Performs wave soldering to IPC-610 workmanship criteria.

  • Ability to provide routine maintenance equipment to obtain optimal results.

  • Interface with supervisors and peers to resolve issues.

  • Ensure that work area is kept clean and that safety rules are followed.

  • Participates in company or special training classes with emphasis on employee improvement.


Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Use simple mechanical tools.

  • Read and understand blueprints

  • Determine critical points of assembly.

  • Working knowledge of IPC 610.

  • Identification of good and bad soldering joints.

  • Perform machine maintenance.


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent


Technical:

  • Ability to use mechanical tools.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.

  • Working knowledge of IPC 610.

  • Ability to identify good and bad soldering joints.

  • Ability to perform machine maintenance.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 5 lbs or more.

  • Frequent standing, sitting, walking, lifting, pushing

Pay Details: $18.00 to $21.00 per hour
