Description

Build Something That Actually Matters

Most landscape jobs are just jobs. This isn't one of them.

At Drab to Fab, we're building something bigger-a company that's redefining what outdoor spaces can be, and how they're built. Since launching in 2020, we've completed over 400 projects across San Diego County, growing fast by doing things differently: better design, better execution, and a serious commitment to sustainability.

We're not a "mow and blow" company. We design, build, and maintain high-end outdoor environments that people actually live in. And we do it while pushing the industry forward-using electric equipment, organic practices, and smarter systems.

We're also a Certified B Corporation, meaning we hold ourselves to a higher standard-environmentally, socially, and operationally.

If you want to just clock in and out, this isn't for you.

If you want to learn, grow, and be part of a company that's scaling fast, keep reading.

What You'll Be Part Of

You'll be joining a team that's:

  • Building a modern, eco-conscious landscaping company from the ground up

  • Raising the bar on quality, professionalism, and craftsmanship

  • Growing quickly-with real opportunities to move up if you prove yourself

  • Focused on doing work we're actually proud of

This is a chance to get in early and grow with us.

What You'll Do

This is hands-on, physical work where you'll learn real skills-not just busywork.

  • Assist with landscape construction and installation

  • Perform grading, concrete work, and paver installation

  • Help install irrigation systems and low-voltage lighting

  • Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently

  • Keep job sites clean, organized, and professional

  • Work as part of a team that takes pride in the final product

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Experience with landscaping, grading, concrete, pavers, retaining walls, irrigation, or lighting

  • Valid Social Security Number (I-9 verification required)

  • Valid driver's license with clean record OR reliable transportation

  • Ability to follow directions, safety standards, and company processes

  • Strong work ethic-you show up, you work hard, you take responsibility

  • Team player with a good attitude

Preferred (but not required):

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Physical Requirements
  • Work outdoors across San Diego County

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Comfortable with heat, movement, and physical labor (standing, bending, lifting, etc.)

This is real work. If you're not ready for that, this won't be a fit.

Pay & Benefits

Pay: $22-$30/hour depending on experience

Paid Sick Time (Starts Day One):

  • 40 hours/year (based on full-time employment)

Paid Vacation (After 1 Year):

  • 40 hours/year (based on full-time employment)

After 60 days (Full-Time 32+ hrs / Part-Time 20+ hrs):

  • Health/Dental/Vision Insurance (company pays 75%)

  • 401(k) with employer match

  • Tuition reimbursement (Cuyamaca College horticulture program or similar)

Hiring Process
  • Phone screening

  • One-way video interview

  • In-person interview

Offer is contingent on background check, employment verification, and drug screening (Note: we do NOT test for cannabis/marijuana)

Why This Role Is Different

This isn't just another labor job.

You'll gain real skills in construction, landscaping, and systems. You'll work on projects you can actually point to and be proud of. And if you perform, there's room to grow-fast.

We're building a company with serious momentum. The only question is whether you want to be part of it early-or hear about it later.
