Job description

Agensys is seeking an NMCC Systems Engineer to support the Air Force National Capital Region Information Technology Services (AFNCR ITS) program within the National Military Command Center (NMCC). This role is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining mission-critical server infrastructure supporting senior DoD leadership. The Systems Engineer will work closely with System Administrators, Cybersecurity, Telecommunications, and Multimedia Engineering teams to deliver secure, highly available infrastructure within one of the Department of Defense's most critical operational environments. Responsibilities: * Design, implement, manage, and monitor server infrastructure supporting the NMCC. * Develop technical solutions and collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines. * Draft and review Engineering Installation Plans (EIPs). * Coordinate with third-party vendors on mission-critical system integration. * Establish baseline hardware and software configurations. * Assist with Windows server administration, security, user privileges, and maintenance. * Develop SOPs, technical documentation, reports, and executive presentations. * Support large-scale infrastructure modernization and server migration efforts. * Document work activities within the Remedy ticketing system. * Present technical updates and solutions to Government and DoD leadership. Required Qualifications: * Active TS/SCI Clearance. * DoD 8140 IAT Level II Certification (Security+ CE preferred). * Extensive VMware experience, including: * VM migrations from Hyper-V to VMware * High Availability (HA) * Fault Tolerance * Enterprise VMware deployments * Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication. * Windows Server 2019/2022 administration. * Active Directory and Group Policy administration. * Linux administration (Red Hat and CentOS). * Experience implementing DISA STIG hardening practices. * Strong troubleshooting and systems integration experience. * Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience managing enterprise VMware environments. * Advanced Group Policy experience. * Project management and infrastructure modernization experience. * Experience with systems architecture and systems integration. * Experience developing automated testing and documentation. * Experience supporting mission-critical DoD environments. Recruiter Notes: * This is a Systems Engineering role, not a traditional System Administrator position. * VMware is the primary technical requirement-look for candidates with enterprise VMware design, deployment, and migration experience. * Veeam Backup & Replication experience is highly preferred. * Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Linux administration experience are all required. * Strong project implementation experience is important; this role is heavily involved in modernization efforts. * TS/SCI required to start. * 100% onsite at the Pentagon (NMCC). * Candidates from AFNCR, DISA, Pentagon, or other mission-critical DoD environments will stand out.
