Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedics (3 West) night shift position in Saint Louis, MO, requiring a minimum of 2 years of inpatient ortho experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Details
  • Located on the 3 West Orthopedics unit of a 30-bed inpatient facility in Saint Louis, MO
  • Medical patient population including post-trauma, post-surgical, and medically complex orthopedic cases
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Night shift schedule, 1900–0730
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating required as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
  • EMR: Epic
  • 13-week contract
Requirements
  • Active RN license in Missouri or a compact state currently in hand
  • Current BLS certification from AHA required
  • ACLS from AHA preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of inpatient orthopedic nursing experience required
  • Valid U.S. Social Security Number required
  • No gaps in employment of 90 or more days within the past 12 months
  • Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documented renewal is scheduled
Additional Information
  • Performs direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for orthopedic patients across all age groups
  • Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient comfort and outcomes
  • Physical demands include standing and walking most of the shift, significant bending and stooping, and lifting/turning patients with assistance; push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
  • High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids
  • Black scrubs required; no other scrub colors accepted
  • Night shift orients on day shift; candidate must be available the entire week for orientation
  • Up to 5 days of RTO is permitted but must be made up during the assignment
  • Only 1 holiday RTO request allowed per assignment
  • Facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center and a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center
  • Flu vaccination is required from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
  • Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
