Position Overview
The Front of House Manager is responsible for overseeing all patron-facing operations during live events, ensuring exceptional customer service, smooth event flow, and a safe, welcoming environment. This role manages FOH staff to include servers, security, hospitality workers and hostesses.  The FOH manager also works closely with production teams to deliver seamless experiences for artists and guests.
Key Responsibilities

Event Operations
  • Oversee all FOH activities before, during, and after events, including doors, guest flow, seating areas, and post-show clearing.
  • Coordinate with Production and Back-of-House staff to ensure event readiness.
  • Conduct pre-show briefings to update FOH staff on event details, timelines, capacities, and safety considerations.
  • Monitor crowd behavior and collaborate with Security to maintain a safe environment.
Staff Management
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise FOH team members.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to ensure high service standards.
  • Maintain proper staffing levels in line with expected event attendance and budget guidelines.
Customer Service
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for guest concerns, accessibility needs, and escalated service issues.
  • Ensure FOH staff deliver warm, professional, and efficient customer service.
Venue Appearance & Safety
  • Ensure the FOH area (lobby, restrooms, seating areas) is clean, organized, and well-maintained.
  • Enforce venue safety policies, including emergency procedures, ID-checking, and compliance with alcohol service regulations.
  • Conduct regular walk-throughs to identify and address hazards or maintenance needs.
Financial & Administrative Duties
  • Assist with nightly reconciliation of server sales, ticketing reports, and inventory checks.
  • Track FOH staff hours and reconcile nightly.
  • Manage FOH wastes and contribute to cost control initiatives.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Maintain strong communication with the General Manager, Production Manager, and Back-of-House staff.
  • Participate in weekly operations meetings and contribute feedback for improving guest experience.
Qualifications

Required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospitality, event management, or venue operations (preferably in a live music or entertainment environment).
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to stay calm under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Understanding of crowd management and basic security/safety procedures.
  • Ability to work late nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Preferred
  • Experience working with POS systems, ticketing software, and scheduling platforms.
  • Knowledge of local alcohol service laws and venue safety regulations.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume live event setting.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Climb a flight of stairs while carrying products
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (moving boxes or equipment as needed).
  • Comfortable working in a loud, busy environment.
Professional Appearance
  • Ensure personal presentation meets venue standards at all times when open to the public.
  • Professional suiting (black or dark colored) must be worn whenever the venue is open to the public.
