Live In Sober Living information

What is a live in sober living?

Live in sober living homes are residential environments designed to support individuals recovering from substance abuse. These homes provide a structured, substance-free setting where residents can focus on their recovery while gradually transitioning back into daily life. Residents typically follow house rules, attend support meetings, and often participate in group activities that promote accountability and personal growth. Sober living homes are not treatment facilities, but they offer peer support and stability, which are important for maintaining sobriety after rehab.

What are the main responsibilities and challenges faced by a live in sober living staff member?

As a Live In Sober Living staff member, your main responsibilities include providing a supportive and structured environment for residents in recovery, enforcing house rules, leading group meetings, and assisting with conflict resolution. One of the common challenges is balancing empathy for residents with maintaining necessary boundaries and accountability. You may also coordinate with counselors, healthcare professionals, and families to ensure residents receive comprehensive support. This role often involves variable hours and requires a high level of communication, patience, and crisis management skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a live in sober living house manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Live-In Sober Living House Manager, you typically need experience in addiction recovery, a high school diploma or equivalent, and knowledge of relapse prevention strategies. Familiarity with case management software, drug testing kits, and basic reporting tools is often required. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, conflict resolution, and the ability to set healthy boundaries are crucial soft skills. These abilities are essential for creating a supportive, structured environment that promotes residents' recovery and well-being.

Job description

Lovely family looking for a Persian, Iranian, or Farsi-speaking Nanny/Housekeeper candidate!
Single dad based in South Beach, Miami, and spending summers in New York (either New York City or the Hamptons) is seeking a full-time, live-in Nanny/Housekeeper/Family Assistant, Weekdays and Weekends, with 2 consecutive days off weekly but must be ok with weekends, 8am-6pm/7am-5pm, for a very active 7-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter.
Candidate must have experience with toddlers and multiple children, work well with others, and most importantly, be a loving, warm presence in the home. The family also employs a full-time nanny, so this person should be comfortable working as part of a team.
The children attend school from 9am-3pm in the fall and are very active and eager to learn. They love scooting, going to the park, reading, swimming, and activities, so the ideal candidate will be creative, energetic, engaged, and genuinely enjoy helping children learn and reach new milestones.
Duties include housekeeping, laundry, meal prep, keeping household supplies stocked, general household organization and duties, and helping keep the children’s areas tidy. The nanny will also be your right hand in completing the daily work and caring for the household.
Candidate must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and be comfortable confidently driving the children to and from school, activities, appointments, playdates, and other outings as needed.
Ideally, you would enjoy living between Miami and New York during the summer months (June, July & August) and be resourceful, mindful, adaptable, experienced, warm, happy, and energetic. Must enjoy traveling with the family when the opportunity arises.
Salary: $35-$40/hour with benefits, depending on experience.
