Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is searching for BC/BE Pulmonologists with an interest in Sleep Medicine to join our pulmonary practice located on the campus of Houston Methodist, The Woodlands Hospital.

This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a thriving, community-based setting with the support and resources of the Houston Methodist Health System โ€“ ranked #1 Hospital System in TX (U.S. News & World Report).

Located 28 miles north of downtown Houston;  The Woodlands is consistently voted a โ€œTop Best Place to Liveโ€.  

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with a wide range of pulmonary conditions, including but not limited to lung cancer, interstitial lung diseases, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and sleep disorders.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients based on their diagnosis, stage of disease, and overall health status.

  • Collaborate with other specialists, including thoracic surgeons, radiologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, oncology nurse navigators and respiratory therapists, to provide multidisciplinary care to patients with lung cancer.

  • Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding their condition, treatment options, and self-management techniques.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including performance improvement projects and clinical research, to enhance patient outcomes and advance the field of pulmonary medicine.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in the electronic medical record, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

  • Collaborate with other members of the pulmonary team to provide seamless and coordinated care to patients.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in pulmonary medicine through ongoing professional development and education.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school

  • Board certification in Pulmonary Medicine

  • Board certification in Sleep Medicine

  • Proven clinical experience in diagnosing and managing a broad spectrum of pulmonary and sleep related conditions

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment

  • Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practice
