Job Description

Job Title: Roadway Sign Installer / Sign Structure Erector


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and safety‑focused Roadway Sign Installer and Sign Structure Erector to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and erecting roadway signs and sign structures in accordance with FDOT standards and project plans. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, the ability to read and interpret FDOT sign plans, and experience operating boom trucks and other equipment used in sign installation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain roadway signs and sign structures per FDOT plans and specifications.
  • Read and interpret FDOT sign plans, structure details, and installation requirements.
  • Operate boom trucks and related heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with sign foundation placement, structural assembly, and elevated installations.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, traffic control procedures, and jobsite requirements.
  • Transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Work as part of a field crew to complete projects on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of FDOT Sign Plans and Sign Structures.
  • Boom truck operating experience; NCCCO Boom Truck Certification preferred.
  • Valid CDL Class A or B required.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Must be able to work at heights and in elevated bucket/boom operations.
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Schedule & Compensation

  • 40–50 hours per week, with potential for overtime depending on projects.
  • Pay: Beginning Rate: Based on experience, certifications, and demonstrated knowledge.
