Job description

Build revenue. Build relationships. Build a career. 3–6 years (B2B sales and/or account management) About Sexton & Co.

Sexton & Co. is a performance marketing agency for brands that live in the fast lane — automotive, powersports, marine, and motorsports industries.
We help companies sell what people want, not what they need: faster cars, nastier builds, rowdier trucks, boats that rip, bikes that haul, and racing programs that win. Our clients hire us to engineer revenue, not “post on social.”
We’re building a team of A-players who want to own outcomes, move fast, and be part of a growing agency — not just punch a clock. This is a leveling-up environment: continued education, sharpening your skills, and actively getting better is a requirement for everyone on the team.

The Opportunity

This isn’t just a sales job. This is a revenue-generating and client-growth seat with a clear path to leadership.
We’re looking for someone who:

  • Lives and breathes the automotive/powersports/marine/motorsports world — you’re an enthusiast first, business person second
  • Can speak the language authentically (not corporate marketing BS)
  • Has proven they can close deals and build lasting client relationships
  • Wants to help businesses in this industry actually grow, not just take their money
  • Is hungry to build a career in an agency environment

You’re the person who:

  • Has been to SEMA, PRI, Daytona, Sturgis, or the local track not as a tourist, but because you belong there
  • Can have a real conversation with a shop owner about cam profiles, suspension geometry, or marine propulsion
  • Understands that these businesses are built by people who eat, sleep, and breathe their craft
  • Wants to use that knowledge to help them scale

Growth Path:
Account Executive → Senior Account Executive → Sales Manager → Sales Director → Chief Revenue Officer
You’re not filling a role. You’re building a career.

What You’ll Own (Outcomes, Not Just Tasks)

You will be directly responsible for:

New Business Development

  • Hitting monthly and quarterly new MRR (Monthly Recurring Revenue) targets
  • Building and managing a sales pipeline of qualified automotive/powersports/marine/motorsports prospects
  • Converting warm leads (from Meta ads, referrals, events) and cold outreach into discovery calls
  • Closing deals ranging from $5K–$23K/month recurring packages (most commonly $5K–$9K)
  • Nurturing a pipeline of 50+ prospects currently sitting in “warm lead” status

Client Account Management & Growth

  • Managing ongoing client relationships and acting as primary point of contact
  • Conducting regular client touchpoints (weekly or bi-weekly strategy calls, KPI reviews, and content planning sessions depending on client package)
  • Maintaining the highest level of communication and transparency with clients — keeping them informed, aligned, and on track
  • Reviewing campaign performance, metrics, and KPIs with clients to ensure goals are being met
  • Identifying upsell and expansion opportunities during regular touchpoints based on client needs and performance
  • Conducting quarterly business reviews and long-term strategic planning sessions
  • Ensuring client satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnership success
  • Coordinating with internal delivery team to ensure client goals are being met and execution is flawless

Discovery & Consultative Selling

  • Running discovery calls with shop owners, manufacturers, race teams, and brand owners
  • Diagnosing their marketing gaps and recommending the right package/solution
  • Speaking their language — not generic marketing speak
  • Building trust by being an enthusiast first, salesperson second

Relationship Building & Industry Presence

  • Attending key industry events (SEMA, PRI, races, shows, rallies) to network and generate leads
  • Building relationships with industry influencers, media, and potential referral partners
  • Staying plugged into the automotive aftermarket, powersports, and marine communities

CRM & Pipeline Management

  • Keeping CRM (HubSpot) clean, accurate, and up-to-date
  • Managing follow-up sequences and staying on top of warm and cold leads
  • Reporting weekly on pipeline health, deal stages, forecasted close dates, and retention metrics

Learning & Growth (Future Leadership Track)

  • Shadowing CEO on strategy calls and high-value deals
  • Learning agency operations, client management, and team coordination
  • Developing skills in team management and sales process optimization
  • Contributing to sales playbooks, scripts, and process improvements
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Prospecting & Outreach (25% of time)

  • 30–50 outbound touches per day (calls, emails, LinkedIn, DMs, industry forums)
  • Qualifying inbound leads from Meta ads, website inquiries, and referrals
  • Researching prospects before calls (their products, market position, competitors, recent wins)
  • Building targeted lists of dream clients in automotive/powersports/marine
  • Nurturing the current pipeline of 50+ warm leads sitting in “follow-up” status

Sales Calls & Meetings (25% of time)

  • Running 5–10 discovery calls per week
  • Presenting packages and pricing with confidence
  • Handling objections and moving deals forward
  • Closing deals or scheduling follow-ups with clear next steps
  • Conducting strategy sessions with prospective clients

Follow-Up & Nurturing (30% of time)

  • Managing follow-up cadence for warm leads (email sequences, check-ins, value drops, case studies)
  • Staying persistent through the 5th–12th touch where 80% of deals close
  • Staying in touch with prospects over 30–90 day sales cycles
  • Re-engaging cold leads with new offers, industry insights, or updated positioning
  • Updating CRM and maintaining accurate pipeline forecasting
  • Moving deals through the pipeline with strategic, persistent follow-up

Client Management & Retention (20% of time)

  • Weekly or bi-weekly client calls (strategy sessions, KPI reviews, content planning)
  • Reviewing campaign performance, metrics, and results with clients
  • Maintaining high-touch communication and transparency with all clients
  • Quarterly business reviews and long-term strategic planning
  • Identifying expansion opportunities (upsells, add-ons, increased budgets) based on performance and client needs
  • Coordinating with delivery team to resolve any client concerns and ensure seamless execution
  • Ensuring clients are hitting their goals and staying engaged

Event & Industry Engagement

  • Attending 2–4 major industry events per year (SEMA, PRI, Holley LS Fest, Sturgis, etc.)
  • Working the floor, collecting cards, setting meetings
  • Following up post-event to convert conversations into deals

Internal Collaboration

  • Weekly pipeline reviews with CEO
  • Coordinating with Operations to ensure smooth client handoffs and deliverySharing prospect insights to refine messaging, positioning, and packages
