INTRODUCTION:

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.


We are currently seeking aCommissionaireto join our growing team. This posting is for an upcoming vacancy starting from September.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Ensuring the safe arrival of students to school grounds and their safe departure from school grounds.
  • Patrolling of the hallways to ensure safe movement of students between classes and to prevent unwanted activity among students. Perform outdoor patrols
  • Encouraging students to be in uniform/in class.
  • Escorting people or equipment at client request
  • Support with school events and programs
  • Report all incidents immediately
  • Access Control - Lock and Unlock Exterior Doors
  • Identifying trespassers onto school property and ensuring their removal from school grounds.
  • Being aware of school policies regarding student activity and ensuring they are followed.
  • Other security duties will be described to the guard by school administration.
  • Successful candidates could be employed at different schools throughout the Region.


WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma
  • *MUST*Ontario Security Guard License
  • *MUST*Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
  • *MUST*be able to attain a Vulnerable Sector Clearance. VSC needed to be annually renewed.
  • Ability to speak/read/communicate in English (fluently), ability to speak French is consider an asset
  • Excellent customer service and reception skills
  • The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential


WHAT THE JOB OFFERS YOU:

  • Job type: Full Time
  • Hourly Rate of Pay: $19.00 per hour
  • Hours of work: : Monday - Friday, September through June, with scheduled time off during school holidays, including Christmas break and March Break
  • Location: Halton Region (Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Georgetown)
