Company Description

Madison County Memorial Hospital (MCMH) is a critical access hospital.  It is also a hospital district facility, which is a quasi-government hospital whose board is appointed by the Governor of Florida.  It operates twenty-five inpatient beds.  MCMH generates approximately $19,000,000 in revenue each year and employs about 100 full-time staff.

MCMH is located about five miles north of Interstate-10, approximately 50 miles east of Tallahassee, Florida.  Madison is the county seat of a county with a population of approximately 20,000.  The county's economic base is agriculture, State correctional facility, school district, local government and small retail.

Job Description

This position REQUIRES a Florida Security D license as well as a Florida Security G license

Maintain safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by patrolling and monitoring the premises.

I.     Job Responsibilities

  • Secure premises and patients, visitors, and staff by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry
  • Identify potential security risks and respond accordingly
  • Respond to emergency situations to provide necessary assistance to staff and customers
  • Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning, routes or detains them, or telephones police for assistance, according to circumstances
  • Ensure the security, safety, and well-being of all patients, staff, visitors, and the premises
  • Escalate emergency situations to law enforcement as needed
  • Escorts staff to and from parking lots as requested
  • Obtain help by sounding alarms
  • Report suspicious activity, criminal behavior, and security breaches 
  • Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers
  • Control traffic by directing drivers when necessary (ie, life flight; vaccination station)
  • Complete incident reports and required documentation for all security incidents by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures
  • Maintain organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Assist staff and visitors with concerns they may have
  • Adhere to all company service and operating standards
  • Remain in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Protect the company's assets relative to theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues
  • Follow procedures for various initiatives, including fire prevention, patrolling premises regularly, traffic control, and accident investigations

 

Qualifications
  1. Licensed in the State of Florida This position REQUIRES a Florida Security D license as well as a Florida Security G license
  2. Previous security related work experience required
  3. Proficient written and oral communication skills
  4. Working knowledge of basic security techniques
  5. Outstanding surveillance skills and attention to detail
  6. Outstanding judgement, objectivity, dependability, emotional control, and integrity
  7. Ability to remain calm and respond quickly in stressful situations
