DEPARTMENT: LIBRARY
HOURS WORKED: Monday-Thursday 9 AM - 12:00 PM
Saturday 9 AM - 12:00 PM
Some Sundays 12:00-4:30 PM (Overtime)
AFFILIATION: AFT LOCAL #4831
SALARY & GRADE: Not to exceed $20.39/hour - GRADE 2
PRIMARY DUTIES
This part-time position is responsible for enforcing the library's code of conduct and maintaining a safe and welcoming atmosphere for staff and customers. This position acts as liaison with police and fire departments when needed. Duties include patrolling building and grounds, responding to emergencies, documenting incidents, opening and closing the facility, and providing general operations support when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant should have clearly demonstrated experience in working directly with members of the public, enforcing policies, communicating with a diverse population and handling disturbances and emergencies. An Associate's degree and at least one year of experience in security or related social services experience OR a high school diploma and 3 years of related experience are required. Bilingual candidates strongly preferred.
