Job Description

We are seeking a Security Guard to join our team. In this role, you will support and promote the safety and well-being of employees, assets and property. You will help ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards while maintaining a secure environment across office entrances and facility premises. Responsibilities include managing entry control processes, monitoring CCTV for safety-related incidents and other matters, and conducting safety audits and observations. You will also document truck traffic in a Yard Management System to support accurate check-in of deliveries and departures. Applicants should have strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to identify, document and report unusual or potentially unsafe activity. The ideal candidate demonstrates effective incident response skills and the ability to support safety audits, job safety analyses and preliminary post-incident investigations.

A day on the job looks like this:

  • Documenting truck traffic in a Yard Management System for proper check-in of deliveries and truck departures
  • Verifying visitors through established visitor check-in and ID procedures
  • Conducting safety audits, assisting with safety training and monitoring CCTV for safety-related incidents and miscellaneous matters
  • Documenting safety violations, observations and incidents using the company’s incident reporting software
  • Performing routine patrols of company premises using a designated company vehicle, actively monitoring grounds, identifying and reporting suspicious activity, and ensuring the safety and security of employees, visitors and property
  • Responding promptly to emergencies or incidents and escalating as needed

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • 2 years of experience in the field, preferred
  • CPR certification, preferred
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification, preferred
  • PIT driver’s certification, preferred
  • BSIS guard card or previous possession of a BSIS guard card, preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to conduct safety audits
  • Strong observational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
