What We Look For In a Physics 2 Tutor
  • Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity and magnetism, electromagnetic waves, optics, and introductory modern physics including atomic structure and nuclear physics. Ability to explain Gauss law, electromagnetic induction, wave optics, and the photoelectric effect while preparing students for advanced physics coursework, engineering applications, and MCAT physical science preparation.
  • Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: Skilled at breaking down electric field calculations, thermodynamic cycle analysis, and optical phenomena problems. Guides students through applying Gauss law for symmetric charge distributions, analyzing heat engines and refrigerators, solving lens and mirror problems, and interpreting atomic spectra. Emphasizes connecting mathematical formalism to physical understanding and applies second-semester physics to medical imaging, telecommunications, and energy systems.
  • Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with Physics 2 curricula and common challenges such as visualizing electric and magnetic fields, applying thermodynamic laws to cycles, and understanding wave optics versus geometric optics. Adapts instruction using visual simulations, worked examples, and laboratory-connected problems to support students in second-semester physics building from mechanics toward advanced electromagnetic and modern physics topics.
