Configuration Developer – XML / FireLight Experience

Location: Salt Lake City, UT – Remote
Duration: 6+ Months
Experience: 1–3 Years

Position Overview

The Configuration Developer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining business rules within the FireLight® proprietary SaaS electronic fulfillment platform. This position focuses on configuring moderately complex business logic to ensure financial product applications are completed In-Good-Order (IGO) with accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

The developer will participate throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, configuration, testing, deployment, and production support.

The role also utilizes AI-enabled development tools to improve rule creation, testing, troubleshooting, productivity, and overall configuration quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure and maintain business rules within the FireLight® platform.
  • Develop configuration components including:
    • Role Codes
    • Review Queues
    • Needs Determination
    • Mapping Documents
    • Admin Mappings
  • Ensure financial product applications meet In-Good-Order (IGO) requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into appropriate configuration and business rules.
  • Participate throughout the SDLC, including:
    • Requirements understanding
    • Configuration/development
    • Unit testing
    • Integration testing
    • Deployment support
    • Production support
  • Perform testing to validate business-rule accuracy and configuration quality.
  • Support customer deployments and ensure configurations are implemented accurately and on schedule.
  • Monitor and resolve configuration issues through Jira/ticketing systems.
  • Provide Tier 2 production support for configuration-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot and triage client-reported issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve defects and improve configurations.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate:
    • Rule creation
    • Test scenario development
    • Troubleshooting
    • Issue investigation
  • Follow configuration/development best practices emphasizing:
    • Simplicity
    • Modularity
    • Reusability
  • Meet productivity, utilization, quality, and delivery KPIs.
  • Provide clear updates regarding progress, risks, issues, and dependencies.
Required Skills 1. XML – REQUIRED
  • Strong hands-on experience with XML
  • XML creation and editing
  • XML troubleshooting/debugging
  • Ability to understand structured XML-based business logic
2. FireLight – HIGHLY IMPORTANT
  • Hands-on FireLight® configuration experience is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of FireLight configuration concepts and platform components.
  • Ability to quickly learn FireLight configuration if direct experience is limited.

3. Business Rules / Configuration
  • Experience configuring business rules or SaaS applications.
