Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a COMPUTER ASSISTANT - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1074000 and is part of the KY AASF, National Guard.

As a COMPUTER ASSISTANT - TITLE 32, GS-0335-9, you will create local modifications to the GCSS-A system to ensure the timely and accurate exchange of maintenance, supply and operational data between individual aircraft laptop computers and the Local Area Network (LAN). Work with operating systems and monitor the transfer of data between aircraft laptops and LAN computers to ensure data integrity is maintained. Monitor data back-up systems. Ensure data and data files are accurately entered into a system through the Local Area Network (LAN). Monitor database files from outside sources to ensure data integrity and applicability. Restore deleted data files as necessary. Utilize Standing Operating Procedures in the event of ACN failure. Troubleshoot problems experienced by laptop users. Create database inquiries to access local information stored in the ACN. Assist AASF users in preparing reports. Create, edit and save database queries. Ensure reports accurately reflect aircraft status. Oversee AMSS processes for daily recording and reporting. Maintain and update unit parameters and aircraft/weapon systems authorization files. Serve as the Terminal Area Security Officer with security oversight over AASF ACN system components. Manage ACN network security protection mechanisms. Assign, secure, store, and maintain user IDs, passwords, and control access to the ACN system. Provide advice and recommendations for using and safeguarding ACN data and resources. Train personnel on ACN changes and procedures. Prepare presentations, utilizing computer programs, as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

Must obtain and maintain Security+ Certification within six (6) months of appointment.
You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard
You must be assigned to a compatible military position
Wear of the military uniform
Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least one (1) year experience at the next lower level in the normal line of progression through federal service (GS-07) or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates the experience and knowledge of automated information systems such as ULLS-A. Experience maintaining computer hardware and software. Experience coordinating workload priorities and scheduling multiple requirements for automated information systems. Experience applying DoD, Army, NGB, and local policies, standards, and directives. Experience identifying computer requirements or techniques associated with the development and design of data processing systems. Experience in planning and programming requirements related to computer systems or applications.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
