Familiarity with surveillance systems, access control software, and two-way communication devices is typically required. What are the unique challenges of working as a live-in remote security guard, and how can I prepare for them?

Working as a live-in remote security guard often means being responsible for monitoring properties in isolated or rural locations, sometimes with limited access to immediate backup. The role can be challenging due to extended periods of solitude, the need for constant alertness, and adapting to varying schedules, including night shifts. The position often requires adaptability, self-sufficiency, and strong communication skills to handle situations independently. Live in remote security guards may also perform routine maintenance or basic management tasks while ensuring the security of the premises.
