Job Description
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Mechanic in Training to support maintenance and repair operations at a water and wastewater treatment facility.
Pay: $20-21 per hour DOE
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver's license required
• Strong safety and work record
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor in all weather conditions and confined spaces
• Must live within 30 minutes of Dodge City
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and troubleshoot pumps, motors (10 HP+), valves, piping, and plant equipment
• Assist with repairs and replacement of motors, pumps, and electrical components
• Diagnose equipment failures and complete repair work orders
• Operate hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance systems
• Work safely in confined spaces and around wastewater systems
• Participate in rotating after-hours emergency call duty
Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems and safety procedures
• Ability to read schematics, manuals, and work orders
• Basic computer skills for electronic work order systems
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in physically demanding environments.
