POSITION:  Part-Time Homemaker – Independent Contractor
Area:   Cambridge - North Dumfries  (and Surrounding Area)
Salary:  $24.00 per Hour  (May be eligible for $26.00 per Hour)
Are you interested in a flexible Work Model that fits your schedule?
Community Support Connections is currently recruiting Independent Contractors for its Homemaking Program to provide assistance with light housekeeping, laundry and minor meal preparation only.  Our Homemakers do not provide any personal hygiene care at all – no client lifting, bathing, dressing or biohazard cleaning whatsoever.  Our Contract Work is categorically easier, safer & much more flexible for applicants who may have other family/parental obligations, another job or even pursuing part-time education.  For this reason, many of our Homemakers are former/current/graduating PSW's OR working Moms attracted by our competitive pay rate, lighter work load and flexible scheduling.  Our clients include older adults and persons with disabilities, living within the Greater Kitchener-Cambridge-North Dumfries Area.
Are you ready to join our Industry-Best Team?
Community Support Connections was duly recognized for 2025-2026 READERS CHOICE AWARDS for:
  • Best Senior Services  (Diamond Winner)
  • Best Maid/Cleaning Service  (Platinum Winner)
  • Best Landscaping Service  (Diamond Winner)
  • Best Non-Profit Agency or Foundation  (Platinum Winner)
Community Support Connections screens Homemakers through reference and police checks, and then matches them with eligible clients.  This position is part-time with flexible hours. Clients pay a per-hour set fee (2 hour booking minimum) for the service, directly to the Homemaker.
Suitable candidates must have:
  • Exceptional cleaning skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Some experience with older adults and/or persons with disabilities
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
Successful candidates must provide a recent Vulnerable Sector Police Check (VSPC) and 3 Personal References (excluding family members) before they can join our Independent Contractor Team.  All references should include full names, email address, phone number and nature of relationship.  Only those applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.  If this sounds like the opportunity you have been waiting for, please apply now OR visit our website for additional information at:  https://communitysupportconnections.org/services/

  • Do you live within the Region of Waterloo?
  • Do you have access to a reliable vehicle for daily transportation between Client homes?

  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check Certificate (VSPC - Issued within last 6 months)
