What You’ll Do

Reporting to the SVP of Asset Management, the VP of Closing and REM leads Wallick’s Real Estate Closings & Management Team, including the Sr. Closing Manager and Closing Manager. This leader is responsible for the execution of real estate closings across tax credit, Senior Living, Workforce Housing, acquisition, refinance, and disposition transactions, while also overseeing acquisition and disposition processes, real estate ownership, corporate entity management, and key industry relationships.

  • Provide leadership and day-to-day oversight of the Real Estate Closings & Management Team, establishing clear priorities, deliverables, accountability, and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Lead the execution of all real estate closings, including tax credit, Senior Living, Workforce Housing, acquisition, refinance, and disposition transactions.
  • Lead acquisition activity from LOI through asset onboarding, including due diligence, seller communication, and collaboration with internal partners to identify the optimum transaction structure.
  • Lead disposition activity from LOI negotiations through closing with buyers and their representatives.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Vice President and Vice Presidents of Development to establish closing timelines for LIHTC and Senior Living transactions, and partner with the CFO to structure and execute upper-tier financing as needed.
  • Manage closing and execution communications with lenders, legal counsel, local housing authorities, HUD, and other external partners; serve as Wallick’s representative for the Allied Title relationship.
  • Own due diligence engagement and review at the appropriate level based on the type of closing, and drive transactions to efficient completion against agreed-upon timelines.
  • Oversee real estate ownership and corporate entity management activities for the existing portfolio to maintain compliance and mitigate risk, including coordination with Affordable Housing Operations on management contracts.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures and cross-functional deliverables that create a consistent, efficient, best-in-class real estate transaction platform.
  • Build a high-performance team culture through coaching, mentoring, development, and clear performance expectations while cultivating strong relationships with key industry partners.

What We’re Looking For

You are an organized, detail-oriented real estate leader who can manage multiple high-stakes transactions, communicate effectively across all levels of an organization, and use sound judgment to keep complex work moving toward deadlines. This is an office-based role that requires travel within the district.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of previous experience in real estate closings and preparation, or 10+ years of equivalent experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a timely and professional manner.
  • Effective and timely verbal and written communication with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to interpret real estate reports, assess findings, create appropriate action plans, and meet deadlines.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to make decisions that affect the immediate department.
  • Working knowledge of HUD and tax credit programs.
  • Notary Public required upon hire.
  • Ability to work effectively in an office environment with extensive computer and keyboard use and to travel within the district.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree or equivalent legal background preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and legal experience in Real Estate
