JOB SUMMARY
The Vice President of Real Estate, Facilities, Design & Construction provides enterprise-wide strategic leadership for all healthcare facilities, construction, real estate, and property management activities across the organization. This executive role is responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining a comprehensive portfolio of owned, leased, and managed properties while ensuring that all physical environments support clinical excellence, patient safety, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and long-term sustainability.
The VP partners closely with clinical, operational, financial, and executive leaders to align real estate strategy, capital investments, and facility operations with the organization's healthcare delivery model and long-term strategic goals.

Responsibilities And Duties:

Strategic Leadership & Planning
Develop and execute integrated facilities, construction, and real estate strategy aligned with the organization's clinical, operational, and financial objectives.
Lead enterprise capital planning, prioritization, and long-term facilities master planning.
Serve as a key advisor to the executive team on real estate, space utilization, capital investments, and infrastructure strategy.
Facilities, Design & Healthcare Construction Management
Oversee all phases of healthcare construction, renovation, and improvement projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
Provide oversight of architects, engineers, contractors, and construction partners.
Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare, life safety, infection control, and accessibility standards.
Real Estate & Portfolio Management
Provide leadership oversight for the organization's full real estate portfolio, including owned, leased, and managed properties.
Direct leasing strategy to ensure occupancy goals, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational growth initiatives.
Oversee property management, maintenance, and operations to ensure tenant satisfaction, operational efficiency, and brand consistency.
Collaborate with finance to track and optimize financial performance across the real estate portfolio.
Facilities Operations & Compliance
Direct day-to-day operations and maintenance of inpatient, outpatient, and administrative facilities.
Ensure facilities provide a safe, clean, and healing environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Implement best practices in preventive maintenance, sustainability, energy efficiency, and asset management.
Team, Vendor & Performance Leadership
Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams across facilities, construction, engineering, real estate, leasing, and property management.
Establish performance metrics, accountability systems, and quality controls to drive operational excellence.
Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiation, and ongoing performance management.
Mentor and coach leaders while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
Risk Management & Emergency Preparedness
Ensure all facilities meet life safety, emergency preparedness, and business continuity requirements.
Lead facility-related components of disaster recovery and emergency response planning.
Maintain awareness of compliance, legal, and regulatory issues impacting facilities and real estate operations.
Enterprise Financial Planning & Forecasting
Lead enterprise-wide financial planning processes, including: Long-range financial planning, annual operating and capital budgeting, rolling forecasts and scenario modeling
Ensure alignment between strategic priorities, clinical initiatives, capital investments, and financial capacity
Develop and maintain integrated financial models that reflect volume, reimbursement, labor, and cost drivers across the system
Business partner to C-Suite executives for parent and corporate departments, for management of Parent and Corporate finances
Performance Management & Decision Support
Provide timely, accurate financial analysis and insights to support executive and operational decision-making
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and variance analyses
Translate complex financial data into clear, decision-ready insights for non-financial leaders
Partner with Strategy, Treasury, Finance and business leaders on capital planning and ROI analyses
Evaluate financial implications of volume shifts, reimbursement changes, labor trends, and regulatory developments
Leadership, Team Development & Operating Model
Lead and develop a high-performing FP&A organization with enterprise and business-unit support models
Balance hands-on involvement in complex analyses with delegation and leadership development
Establish standardized planning, forecasting, and reporting methodologies across the system
Foster collaboration across Finance (Accounting, Revenue Cycle, Supply Chain) and operational teams
Systems, Data & Process Optimization
Own FP&A tools, models, and reporting frameworks across the enterprise
Partner with IT and Finance leadership on ERP, budgeting, and analytics platform enhancements
Improve data quality, automation, and timeliness of reporting and forecasting processes
Ensure financial models and reports are well-documented, scalable, and auditable
Executive & Board Support
Prepare and present financial plans, forecasts, and performance updates to executive leadership
Support Board discussions with scenario analysis, risk assessment, and long-term sustainability insights
Partner with the CFO to frame financial narratives that connect performance to strategy and mission
