The MSPAS Program at North Central College invites applications to teach courses as a faculty associate during the 2025-2026 academic year. The successful candidate will teach one to two MSPAS courses or lab assistant per semester. The role requires someone who is a board-certified physician assistant (PA-C) or physician (MD), with experience in graduate physician assistant student education. A viable candidate can deliver course content, contribute to the creation of assignments and other assessments, evaluate and grade student work, and hold office hours to assist students.

MSPAS faculty associate (adjunct) appointments are on a course-by-course basis. This posting is continuous to develop a qualified pool of interested candidates. If your academic area of interest/expertise meets our programmatic needs at any time, you may be contacted to discuss teaching opportunities. These needs change from semester to semester. The position is a non-benefits eligible, fixed-term appointment with no tenure eligibility. The number of courses is contingent upon unit needs, funding, and sufficient enrollment.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in physician assistant studies or MD
Unincumbered Illinois License
All degrees must be from an accredited institution. A terminal degree is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior higher education teaching experience preferred
Experience facilitating student-led classroom discussions
Evidence of working with a diverse student population
Evidence of effective collaboration skills
Experience with technology/course management systems (e.g. Canvas)
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

The review of applications will occur as the School has needs for a particular course
. Applications will continue to be accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis. This pool recruitment will be live throughout the academic year, and the School may or may not hire from it, depending on course needs. A background check and official transcripts are required prior to employment.

The salary range for adjuncts in the Physican Assistant Studies Program (Master of Science) program can range from $2970 to $15,000, depending on the course. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, including equivalent years in rank, training, and field or discipline; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
