Summary
Join our team as a Farm Associate and play a vital role in the health, care, and daily success of our flocks! We're looking for individuals who thrive in a hands-on, outdoor environment and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare, quality, and safety. In this role, you'll support essential farm operations caring for live chickens, preparing houses for placement, ensuring clean and well-maintained environments, monitoring feed and water systems, and assisting with daily flock management. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a direct impact on farm performance while helping our birds thrive every step of the way.
Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Catch 3 to 4 chickens in each hand.
  • Place 20 to 25 chickens per minute in a draw.
  • Place chickens into the draw without harming the chickens.
  • Place 10 to 12 chickens in each module.
  • Assist in Pasturebird house construction and other on-site general construction projects.
  • Ability to use power tools.
  • Must be able to operate a fork-lift.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures and Process Safety Management.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • High School or equivalent is beneficial but not required.
  • Experience in a poultry processing/manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
When in a plant environment:
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • Ability to stand for an extended period and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs by reaching, bending, and pushing boxes.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection as required.
  • May work in an environment with varying temperatures between 28 degrees and 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May handle products varying in temperatures between 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
  • May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
  • Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
