Location: Beaufort Memorial Hospital | Beaufort, South Carolina (Lowcountry Coast)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Shift: 24-hour shifts with on-call coverage
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Exempt

About the Opportunity

Beaufort Memorial is excited to expand its Pediatric Hospital Medicine program in-house and is seeking Board-Certified Pediatricians to join our collaborative and patient-centered team. Pediatric Hospitalists at Beaufort Memorial deliver comprehensive inpatient care for pediatric patients, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality care and smooth care transitions.

Highlights include:

  • Join a team of Board-Certified Pediatric Hospitalists and dedicated support staff
  • 24-hour shifts with a manageable patient load (average census: 1013)
  • Manage a diverse pediatric case mix, including acute illnesses, chronic conditions, and complex cases
  • Level 2 nursery
  • Strong support from NICU and level 2 RNs
  • Need to be comfortable with airway and resuscitation, tube feedings, CPAP
  • Coverage includes Level 2 nursery, pediatric floor, and ED consults
  • Hospital-employed position offers an excellent benefits package that includes the SC State Pension plan, student loan repayment program, and an allowance for continuing education, licensure, and dues

Position Requirements

  • Expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of pediatric illnesses, conditions, and injuries
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, order diagnostics, prescribe medications, and perform pediatric hospital-based procedures
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams

Education & Training:

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatrics residency program; fellowship training in Pediatric Hospital Medicine a plus

Licensure & Certification:

  • Current, unrestricted South Carolina medical license (M.D. or D.O.)
  • Active state and federal controlled substance licenses
  • Board Certification in Pediatrics (American Board of Pediatrics) required; subspecialty certification in Pediatric Hospital Medicine preferred but not required
