Job description

Help create unforgettable vacations while keeping our resort safe, welcoming, and fun!

Do you enjoy working outdoors, helping people, and taking pride in keeping things running smoothly? Sun Outdoors Ocean City is looking for a Park Host / Ranger to serve as a visible, friendly presence throughout our resort while helping maintain a safe, secure, and enjoyable environment for our guests, team members, and visitors.

This isn't your typical security position. As a Park Host / Ranger, you'll be the eyes and ears of the resort—greeting guests, assisting with directions and questions, responding to concerns, monitoring resort activities, and ensuring everyone can enjoy their stay in a safe and welcoming atmosphere. Every day is different, and you'll play an important role in delivering exceptional guest experiences.

What You'll Do
  • Patrol the resort by golf cart to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
  • Serve as a friendly ambassador by greeting guests, answering questions, providing directions, and delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Escort guests to campsites or accommodations when needed and assist with resort information.
  • Monitor resort amenities, recreational areas, pools, playgrounds, parking lots, and common areas to identify safety concerns or policy violations.
  • Enforce resort rules and regulations professionally, courteously, and consistently.
  • Respond promptly to guest concerns, disturbances, emergencies, accidents, and medical incidents while coordinating with management and emergency responders when necessary.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and investigate suspicious activity, theft, property damage, or other security-related incidents.
  • Complete accurate incident reports and document security observations and investigations.
  • Assist with lost children, missing property, guest lockouts, vehicle concerns, and other guest assistance requests.
  • Perform routine inspections to ensure buildings, gates, amenities, and facilities are properly secured.
  • Monitor golf cart traffic and promote safe operation throughout the resort.
  • Provide support during special events, peak occupancy periods, severe weather, and emergency situations.
  • Communicate safety hazards, maintenance issues, and operational concerns to the appropriate departments.
  • Promote a positive, family-friendly atmosphere by maintaining a professional, approachable, and helpful presence throughout the resort.
  • Assist other departments as needed to help ensure an exceptional guest experience.
What We're Looking For
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in security, hospitality, guest services, campground operations, parks, military, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Strong observation skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to prepare clear and accurate reports.
  • Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with multiple departments.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Basic computer skills including email and incident reporting.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical activities including walking, standing for extended periods, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds.
Why You'll Love Working Here
  • Spend your days outdoors in one of the area's premier camping resorts.
  • Work with a fun, supportive team dedicated to creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Every day offers something different—from helping families enjoy their vacation to supporting exciting resort events.
  • Build valuable experience in hospitality, guest services, safety, and resort operations.
Position Details
  • Seasonal Full-Time
  • Sun Outdoors Ocean City – Berlin, Maryland
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Benefits
  • Paid Sick Time
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Employee Discount Travel Program
  • Team Member Discounts
  • Opportunities for Growth within Sun Outdoors and EOS Hospitality
