We’re hiring an East Side Facilities Maintenance Technician to Live. Work. Explore. this summer!

Job Summary:
Join the team that keeps Glacier’s historic lodges alive and running. Parkwide Maintenance Associates perform day-to-day repairs, small fixes, preventive maintenance and upkeep that preserve these one-of-a-kind buildings and support a great guest experience. This is hands-on, practical work that mixes problem-solving, craftsmanship, customer service, and pride in preservation.

The Details:
Position Type: Seasonal
Season Dates: Starting Immediately through mid-November 2026
Pay: $19.35/hr
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily maintenance tasks and minor repairs across historic lodge facilities, as well as assigned priority sites.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair basic building systems (plumbing, doors, windows, lighting, wall patching, paint.
  • Assist HVAC and Kitchen Techs with projects.
  • Perform preventive maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Communicate clearly with Maintenance Manager about repair needs, parts, or issues requiring additional support.
  • Maintaining a professional and positive attitude with guests and coworkers—every fix contributes to someone’s Glacier experience.
  • Follow all company safety, environmental, and operational policies.
  • Assist with seasonal opening, operating, and closing tasks as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Engineering operations.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of general maintenance and repair and PM techniques.
  • Comfortable using common hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
  • Reliable communicator and team player.
  • Ability to provide friendly, professional service in guest-facing situations.
  • Possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License and comply with Xanterra Safety Driver Program and Policy.

Experience:

  • Hospitality facility maintenance and or commercial building equipment preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Indoor and outdoor in a spring, summer and fall in Glacier National Park

Physical Requirements include:

  • Must be able to walk distances over uneven terrain, climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry a maximum of 51 pounds.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of supplies, materials, and equipment throughout the day.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, and crawl for extended periods of time.
  • Working safely with required chemicals, tools, and equipment.
