Job Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact licensure eligibility
  • At least 1 year of RN experience required
  • 2 years of Progressive Care Unit, Stepdown, or PCU nursing experience preferred
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred at hire and required within 6 months if not already obtained
  • Comfort working with adult and geriatric patient populations
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive and ongoing patient assessments and respond appropriately to changes in condition
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
  • Administer medications safely and in accordance with nursing standards
  • Care for patients with chest tubes, trachs, home vents, BiPap, central lines, insulin drips, CIWA protocols, and complex wounds
  • Titrate one vasoactive drip as clinically indicated
  • Monitor patients using hemodynamic and cardiac rhythm awareness
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other care team members to coordinate care
  • Educate patients and families and promote safety, comfort, and positive outcomes
  • Document care accurately and maintain standards of quality, privacy, and professionalism
