Job description

Nursing Assistant Training Course

Take the first step toward becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with our Nursing Assistant Training Course. This comprehensive program provides the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience needed to prepare for the State of Oregon Competency Exam.

This fast-paced program includes:

  • Classroom instruction to build foundational knowledge
  • Labs for hands-on skills practice
  • Clinical practice in our facilities, working directly with residents
  • Preparation for the Oregon State Nursing Assistant Competency Exam

Classes are held Monday through Friday for approximately 4–5 weeks and are offered at:

  • Marquis Piedmont
  • Marquis Tualatin

*Please refer to the class schedule for specific dates and times.

Successful students are:

  • Professional, attentive, and ready to participate
  • Able to dedicate 2-3 hours of studying per night
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and comprehending English

Enrollment Requirements:

  • Must be at least 17 years old
  • Able to pass a criminal background check

Enrollment Process:

  • Submit an application
  • Attend an in-person interview and provide a valid photo ID
  • Accept a Nursing Assistant class offer
  • Complete onboarding paperwork

Enrollment Fees:

$2,000 all-inclusive Nursing Assistant course includes:

  • Tuition
  • Textbook
  • State testing review sessions
  • Background check
  • Lab and clinical supplies
  • BLS CPR certification course

Additional Costs Not Included:

  • Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) Competency Exam Fee: $106 (paid after course completion)
  • OSBN fingerprint-based background check through Fieldprint: $70.50 (paid after course completion)
  • Scrubs for classroom and clinical participation (a clinical smock will be provided)
