What is a Live In Offshore Fishing job?

A Live In Offshore Fishing job involves living on a fishing vessel for extended periods, typically at sea, to catch fish or other marine life. Workers handle fishing gear, maintain equipment, sort and process catches, and contribute to the safe operation of the boat. It's an essential role in commercial fishing that supports seafood supply chains worldwide.

What are the typical living and working conditions like for a live-in offshore fishing crew member?

Live-in offshore fishing crew members typically work long shifts, often 12–18 hours a day, and live aboard the vessel for extended periods, which can range from several days to weeks at sea. Crew members usually share close quarters with colleagues and must be comfortable with limited privacy and communal living. Effective teamwork and communication are essential, as daily responsibilities include operating fishing gear, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. This role offers valuable experience for those seeking advancement to supervisory or specialized positions within the commercial fishing industry.

  • Perform fiberglass grinding and cutting to fit parts as needed
  • Assist with minor lamination work

What We're Looking For

  • Must be able to work a 10-hour shift or longer, including overtime when needed
  • Exposure to loud noise, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and fiberglass dust is common
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Great benefits-medical, dental, vision, company-paid life and disability insurance, and more!

  • A people-focused workspace with an emphasis on team collaboration and industry innovation
