SUMMARY
Firefly's Ground Support Equipment team leads the pack when it comes to individual responsibility, team agility, and ownership. We are looking for a passionate individual with exceptional organizational skills and adaptability to help tackle new obstacles daily. The Inventory Specialist position provides critical support for the GSE engineering, welding, build, and test teams while coordinating with vendors, customers, and other departments within Firefly. This position is located at our rocket production facility north of Cedar Park, in Briggs, TX.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receive and inspect: Monitor and inspect incoming deliveries for accuracy and damage, verifying part numbers, quantities, revisions and paperwork; note and refuse unacceptable shipment.
  • Inventory Management: Own GSE controlled inventory (VLM), un-controlled inventory (VMI), and project inventory by ensuring items are entered in Odoo, assigned locations, and interfacing with vendors on department needs with consumable and floor stock requirements.
  • Put-away, organize, and store: Record received items, route inventoried parts to appropriate storage locations, create/remove locations as projects come and go and maintain cleanliness of physical and digital inventories in Odoo.
  • Documentation and quality: Maintain material test reports, quality inspection records and AS9100 documentation; work with Quality to resolve discrepancies and support audits
  • Cycle counts: Perform routine and annual cycle counts, research count discrepancies and ensure proper rotation of shelf-life and lot-controlled items
  • Kitting: Pull and kit parts and materials for projects/tasks based on daily schedules, deliver kits to staging/work cells and track controlled/uncontrolled hardware location
  • Shipping: Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, packing lists and Hazmat signage; secure loads with cribbing/dunnage, communicate unique shipping needs (crates, climate control, strapping) to Supply Chain and coordinate truck schedules; communicate with receiving locations to confirm material arrival and receipt
  • Collaboration: Work directly with Procurement, Planning and Engineering to support RMA/returns, coordinate with Shipping & Receiving on large items that bypass standard inventory areas and maintain positive relationships across GSE teams.
  • Safety: Follow safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE; operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment safely
  • 5S: Keeps work center clean, clear, organized, and ready for the next job.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • High school diploma or GED and 2+ years of inventory control experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Ability to lift at least 50?lbs, stand for long periods and work in varied conditions; willingness to support weekend or overtime work as needed
  • Ability to operate or be trained to operate forklifts and heavy equipment
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (Odoo, SAP or Oracle) and basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills; comfortable working at heights and coordinating across multiple departments

Desired
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive or other regulated industries that require strict material handling and traceability
  • Forklift certification or experience operating material-handling equipment; familiarity with Odoo ERP/MRP systems
  • Knowledge of AS9100/AS9102 quality requirements and prior experience in aerospace or controlled/uncontrolled hardware processes
  • Proficiency with software like SQL, Python, or similar
