Location: City of Industry, CA Los Altos Foods (Sigma)
At Los Altos Foods, we take pride in producing high-quality, authentic cheese products that families trust every day. As part of Sigma, a global food leader, our success is built on strong operations, reliable equipment, and skilled technicians who keep our production running smoothly from start to finish.
We are looking for a Electro-Mechanical Technician with strong dairy and packaging equipment experience to support our cheese manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be critical to maintaining and repairing the systems that power our production lines-from milk processing and cheese production to high-speed packaging.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys hands-on technical work, and can quickly respond to keep production moving without interruption.
What You'll Do:
  • Repair and maintain plant equipment including product lines, water systems, conveyors, pumps, and motors
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on high-tech cheese packaging and processing equipment
  • Respond quickly to production breakdowns and restore equipment to minimize downtime
  • Support equipment startup to ensure smooth and efficient production runs
  • Perform stainless steel welding and fabrication repairs as needed
  • Assist with equipment relocation, rigging, and installation projects across the plant
  • Conduct maintenance on steam systems, boilers, and water/wastewater equipment
  • Rebuild critical machine components such as pumps and grinders
  • Partner with production teams to troubleshoot issues and improve equipment reliability
  • Follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety standards

Your work will directly support the continuous production of high-quality cheese products and help ensure our operations remain efficient, safe, and reliable.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of dairy plant maintenance experience
  • Experience performing repairs on industrial electrical systems
  • Ability to perform stainless steel welding repairs
  • Experience with boiler operation and repair
  • Trained by equipment manufacturer technicians

Licenses/Certifications:
  • Welding certification required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Extensive knowledge of dairy processing equipment and production flow

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong experience performing preventive maintenance on packaging equipment, pumps, and plant piping systems
  • Knowledge of steam systems, city water, and wastewater systems
  • Ability to support daily equipment startup and ensure efficient production flow
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly respond to equipment failures
  • Experience rebuilding high-value machine components
  • Proactive mindset focused on reducing downtime and improving efficiency
