Job description

We are looking for a liquid tanker driver within a 50-mile radius of Gary IN to deliver liquid sugar products in bulk, transport them via Semi-Truck and Trailer, and unload products at various customer locations. This would be a 5-6 days per week including weekends. All resets at home.

Responsibilities:

  • Loading products at distributer, and bulk storage facilities.
  • Unloading products at numerous customer locations.
  • Ability to pump on and off products using a Power Take Off.
  • Dropping, hooking and connecting trailers to semi-truck. This includes manually raising and lowering dolly legs on the trailer with up to 50 pounds of torque resistance.
  • Hooking up hoses and fittings to load and unload these products safely and securely.
  • Reaching, pulling and pushing hoses weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Climbing up ladder on trailer to check tank and levels and make sure the load is secured.
  • The maximum weight the ladder can accommodate is 450 pounds with a 200 pound at the top of the trailer.
  • Climbing in and out of Semi-Truck using 3 points of contact.
  • General conversations in English with dispatchers, customers, and loaders to accommodate their needs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. Stooping, bending, twisting, pulling, grasping
  • Climbing , Prolonged sitting

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A - CDL driver’s license with tanker.
  • Hazmat a plus but not required
  • Approved medical card via DOT certified doctor, PA, Chiropractor
