Palmetto Woods is a busy mobile home community located just one mile from Shaw Air Force Base. We are looking for a dependable, motivated MAINTENANCE MINDED PERSON who enjoys working with tools, solving problems, and keeping things in great shape. WE ARE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS BUT YOU MUST HAVE 1-3 YEARS PRIOR EXPERIENCE!

What You’ll Be Doing

Every day is different! You’ll work to keep homes, equipment, and the community looking its best.
  •  Fix and repair things – basic tenant repairs, basic carpentry, ie, sheetrock, painting, flooring, doors and fixtures
  •  Use your handyman skills – basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC repairs
  •  Help maintain mobile homes – including occasional roofing and exterior repairs
  •  Work outdoors – power washing, outdoor painting, community upkeep, roofing, and equipment maintenance
  •  Maintain tools and equipment – keep things in working order and let us know when something needs attention. You’ll need your own set of favorite basic tools to be successful!
  •  Troubleshoot problems – figure out what’s wrong and help find a practical solution
  •  Document your work – use a smartphone to enter completed work and maintenance logs
  •  Work safely – participate in weekly safety meetings and follow safe work practices
  •  Pitch in wherever needed – we’re a team, and there’s always something that needs to be done

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

  •  Is available either FULL or PART TIME
  •  Has a high school diploma/GED or equivalent
  •  Has a strong work ethic and takes pride in doing things right
  •  Is dependable, responsible, and willing to roll up their sleeves and get things done
  •  Enjoys working with their hands and likes fixing things
  •  Can work independently but also enjoys being part of a team
  •  Has good communication and time-management skills
  •  Pays attention to the details
  •  Is willing to learn new skills
  •  Can use a smartphone for basic data entry
  •  Has basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry/general home repairs experience 
  •  Is comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
  •  Has a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; a truck is preferred
  •  Is willing to be on call for occasional after-hour emergency nights
