Job Title: Housekeeper, Lighthouse

Work Location: Omaha, NE

Job Type: C2C/Fulltime

Job Details:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs the day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.

Performs specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.

Coordinates daily housekeeping services with nursing service when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.

Performed assigned tasks in accordance with established housekeeping procedures.

Ensures that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner.

Follows established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.

Ensures that established Infection Control practices are maintained when performing housekeeping procedures.

Coordinates routine/terminal isolation procedures with nursing services.

Cleans/polishes furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room, heating/cooling units, in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc. daily as instructed.

Cleans, washes, sanitizes and/or polishes bathroom fixtures. Ensures that water marks are removed from fixtures.

Cleans windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways.

Cleans floors to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, (NOTE: Ensure that appropriate CAUTION/SAFETY signs are properly set up PRIOR to performing such duties.)

Cleans carpets to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing and spot cleaning as necessary.

Cleans walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.

Removes dirt, dust, grease, film, etc. from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.

Cleans hallways, stairways and discards waste/trash into proper containers and relines trash receptacles with plastic liners.

Reports all hazardous conditions or equipment to the Executive Director or Director of Nursing.

Ensures that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift.

Keeps Executive Director or Food Service Director informed of supply needs.

Reports burned out light bulbs, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, etc. to the Executive Director as soon as practical.

Cleans resident rooms as assigned.

Launder bed linens according to facility procedures to properly sanitize sheets and other linens and towels.

Ensure residents have clean towels in their r rooms each day, as the rooms are cleaned.

Follows established Fire Safety Policies and Procedures.

Disposes of refuse daily in accordance with the facilities established sanitation procedures.

Ensures that work/assignment is clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, are properly stored and labeled at all times, as well as before leaving such areas for breaks, meal times, and the end of the day.

Reports all accidents/incidents to the Executive Director NO MATTER HOW MINOR THEY MAY (NOTE: Such occurrences must be reported on the shift in which it occurs).

Maintains the confidentiality of resident care information.

Honors the residents' personal and property rights.

Cleans work/supply carts, equipment, etc. as necessary / directed.

Turns in all found articles to the Executive Director.

Performs terminal cleaning procedures, as instructed when a resident is discharged and/or transferred to another room/area.

Keeps work/assignment areas free of hazardous objects, such as protruding mop/broom handles, unnecessary equipment, supplies, etc.

Participates in overall quality assessment and improvement program 38) Participates and assists in department studies and projects as directed.

Notifies Executive Director of any complaints / grievances

Attends departmental and staff meetings as directed.

Attends and participates in in-service educational classes, on-the-job training programs, as scheduled/ directed.
