Listed below are the essential job functions for the primary responsibilities that a Textile Operator will perform, however, at any time manufacturing demands may require the Warper to work on a different product line which would require him/her to perform any or all of the listed additional job functions.
  • Machine Operator - responsible for operating warping machines, with multiple end reeds and minimum of 240 stations fine gauge. Able to understand and set the proper settings and adjustments on the equipment.
  • Creel - responsible for loading and unloading magazine creel. Able to properly thread creel, eye board, and reed. Able to identify and repair broken ends. Able to adjust proper tension, according to layouts.
  • Documentation - Ensure that labels for spools are filled out properly. Able to read and respond to warping charts, layouts, and instructions. Complete applicable JDE move tickets and yarn check in sheets accurately. Responsible for entry of all spools in log book.
  • Lifting - able to remove warped beams of yarn, weighing up to 80 pounds, also able to move large boxes of yarn weighing up to 120 pounds.
  • Basic Warp Knitting Operator:
    • Fabric damage repair, responsible for replacing broken ends and repairing minor damages in the knitted fabric in gauges up to 64 gauge.
    • Knitting Records - Responsible for recording accurately all damages encountered during production. Also responsible for recording all webs doffed from machines.
    • Beam Loading - responsible for hanging beams on knitting machines and properly loading and threading the yarn according to the layout.
    • Layouts - responsible for reading, understanding and responding to written specification in the form of layouts with regards to: threading, setting, needles, start up.
  • Machine Repair - Responsible for minor machine repair so that production will not be impaired.
  • Preventative Maintenance - responsible for preventative maintenance assigned warper.

Additional Requirements:
  • Follow manufacturing procedures and Quality System requirements.
  • Make recommendations for manufacturing process improvements and cost savings.
  • Effectively communicate any manufacturing and quality concerns to the supervisor.
  • Train other employees on new/revised procedures when required.

  • The ability to work overtime.
  • Participate in failure investigation and process improvement teams.
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Ensure work area is always kept neat and clean.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Mechanical aptitude with previous experience working with Textile equipment a plus.
  • Must have effective communication skills and be fluent in the English language
  • Basic math skills including conversion of units of measure normally obtained by a high school graduate or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to multi-task effectively.

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook a plus.

Education and/or Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED preferred, n
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in the medical field within production a plus.

Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift 120 lbs.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator if required
  • Must be able to stand, move, twist and bend to operate, move and clean equipment.
