Description:

Operate an assigned set of knitting machines effectively and efficiently. Patrol machines, monitoring production, inspecting fabric, repairing defects, flagging mechanical issues, completing required paperwork.

  • Check rack clocks to ensure they are set correctly
  • Patrol and inspect cloth for pinholes, dragging ends, streaks, dirt, oil etc
  • Repair all operational defects
  • Ensure warps are tight
  • Keep yarn straight in sley points and avoid running ends over sley point wire
  • Keep selvages in selvage spreaders, where appropriate
  • Record all defects and stops on production paperwork
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; or
  • 3 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or
  • Equivalent to both
  • Read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating procedures and instructions
  • Ability to remain in a standing stationary position occasionally, moving around the work area constantly
  • Using hands/fingers to operate equipment and inspect fabric frequently
  • Ability to transport work-related files and materials weighing up to 5 pounds across the work area
