Description:MMJ/PRODUCER/ANCHORWHIZ NBC / FOX – Zanesville, OH.Full-Time Contract Position

WHIZ is seeking a creative journalist to join our news team. Must be a community-minded, strong storyteller with the ability to multi-task and work hands-on in broadcast news.

Responsibilities:

• Report and edit daily news content for broadcast and the web.

• Front stories live in studio and in the field.

• Conduct interviews, research topics thoroughly, and write clear and compelling scripts.

• Establish and maintain key contacts for covering local content.

• Maintain and grow a social media presence.

• Produce newscasts as assigned.

• Engage with the community and viewers through social media, appearances, and events.

• Provide radio content as needed


Degree in Journalism or Communication preferred but will consider related experience. Strong communication skills are required. Must be flexible with schedule. Knowledge of Adobe Premiere and Panasonic equipment preferred but will train the right individual.
