Job description

Infection Preventionist Nurse Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Infection Preventionist Nurse to join our team at Ambassador Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Chicago, Illinois. As an Infection Preventionist Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of care and safety for our residents by implementing effective infection prevention and control measures.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough infection control assessments and develop plans to prevent and control infections

  • Identify and investigate potential outbreaks and implement corrective actions to prevent further spread

  • Develop and implement evidence-based infection prevention and control protocols

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of infection prevention and control measures

  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, staff, and residents to educate on infection prevention and control practices

  • Provide guidance and training to staff on infection control procedures

  • Develop and maintain infection control policies and procedures

  • Conduct quality improvement initiatives to reduce infection rates and improve patient outcomes

  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities

Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Illinois

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field

  • Minimum 0 years of experience as an Infection Preventionist or in a related field

  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control principles, practices, and regulations

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and other healthcare software
