Job description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and accountable Live-In Resident Assistant to support individuals on their journey to stability and wellness This role plays a critical part in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive living environment while assisting guests/residents with daily needs. This is a hands-on role suited for individuals who value service, structure, and community, and who can maintain appropriate boundaries while building rapport.

Essential Functions:

Program Support

  • Help residents with basic life skills (e.g., time management, hygiene routines, daily structure)

  • Encourage participation in treatment, group activities, and house meetings

  • Support intake and orientation of new residents

Resident Supervision & Support

  • Conduct regular check-ins with residents and provide supportive, recovery-oriented engagement

  • Observe and document resident behavior, participation, and any incidents or concerns

  • Support crisis de-escalation and follow established protocols when concerns arise

Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with residents at all times

  • Respond to emergencies in accordance with established procedures

  • Support compliance with licensing, health, and safety standards

Documentation & Communication

  • Maintain accurate, timely reports of activities, incidents, and resident updates

  • Communicate effectively with case managers, clinical staff, and leadership regarding resident status

  • Report policy violations, safety issues, or behavioral concerns promptly

House Operations

  • Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of common areas; support light housekeeping oversight with residents

  • Assist with food coordination and basic household organization

  • Maintain inventory of basic supplies and report needs

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Experience in human services, behavioral health, recovery support, or residential settings preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to manage conflict, maintain composure, and exercise sound judgment

  • Good computer skills for documentation

  • CPR/First Aid certification

  • CPI certified

Work Environment & Expectations
  • Live on-site and be available to meet the needs of the program

  • Ability to navigate a dynamic environment with individuals in early recovery

  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism

Compensation
  • Housing included (details provided during hiring process)

  • From $17/hr
