CDL Class A Driver/Laborer
Monday-Friday 6:30am-5pm availability (occasional Saturdays based on business need)
Job Summary
BrandSafway is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Class A Driver/Laborer to support branch and job site operations. This role consists of approximately 50% driving and logistics responsibilities and 50% manual labor and yard support activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting materials and equipment between branches and job sites while also assisting with loading, unloading, inventory handling, and general yard operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate commercial vehicles requiring a CDL Class A license.
  • Transport materials, equipment, and supplies from the branch to designated job sites.
  • Pick up materials and equipment from job sites and return them to the branch for inventory and storage.
  • Transfer materials between multiple job sites as operational needs require.
  • Inspect cargo to ensure it is properly loaded, secured, and transported in compliance with company and DOT regulations.
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and routine vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery records, and required transportation documentation.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, local, and company safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with branch personnel, project managers, dispatchers, and job site teams regarding deliveries and pickups.
  • Report vehicle maintenance issues, accidents, or safety concerns promptly.
Labor & Yard Support (50%)
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks using proper material handling techniques.
  • Organize, stage, and store materials within the yard or warehouse.
  • Support inventory control activities, including receiving and returning materials.
  • Assist with equipment inspections, cleaning, and maintenance.
  • Perform general labor duties to support branch and job site operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support other operational needs as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Required
  • Valid CDL Class A license.
  • Acceptable driving record and ability to meet company driver qualification requirements.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in construction, industrial, scaffold, or material transportation environments.
  • Ability to perform physical labor in a construction, industrial, or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while operating commercial vehicles.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to load, unload, and secure materials as needed.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
