Job description

The Marlo hotel is looking for a passionate team member committed to joining the newest hotel in Solvang as a Housekeeper. We offer competitive pay including performance based incentives, benefits and more. Housekeeper

Responsible to maintain high level of cleanliness in all guest spaces including the guestrooms, corridors and cleanliness. This role is also responsible for detail cleaning projects that sustain the long-term use of the guestroom furniture, fixtures and equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Pull all dirty linen from guestroom (including sheets, pillowcases, stained blankets, stained bedspreads, stained mattress pads) and send to laundry
  • Empty all trash receptacles, clean container and install trash bag
  • Dust all windowsills, clean glass and window tracks
  • Check behind all furniture for trash and debris
  • Check inside all furniture drawers for trash and debris
  • Clean around each bed base
  • Dust television (rotate side-to-side) and check to ensure remotes are working
  • Clean all mirrors
  • Wipe all pictures (glass and frames)
  • Clean desk area if applicable and ensure proper placement of collateral.
  • Remove any marks from walls.
  • Clean telephone and tuck cords behind night-stand
  • Check telephone to ensure it is working
  • If applicable, clean radio and alarm clock and ensure the correct time and set to easy listening station (alarm off)
  • Clean all lighting fixtures and adjust lamp shades (seams against the wall)
  • Ensure all lights are working
  • Clean entire vanity and surrounding walls
  • If applicable, clean hair drier and ensure proper placement
  • Clean ice bucket (remove liner and wipe away any moisture) and install clear bag
  • Dust vanity light
  • Dust closet area and ensure correct number of hangers
  • Clean ironing board, empty water from iron, and wrap cord around base
  • Clean and disinfect bathroom area. Dust baseboards
  • Dry shower curtains. Replace if damaged or mildewed
  • Report any mildew issues to HK supervisor.
  • Clean and dry tub surrounds. Clean soap dish.
  • Vacuum carpeting and bathroom floor. Cut any snags.
  • Deodorize room
  • Before exiting room, look to see if the room is fresh, clean and presents the best image for the hotel.
  • Any excessive trash, pets, damage, etc. should immediately be brought to the attention of the HK supervisor
  • Notify HK supervisor of all lost and found items
  • Bring all dirty rags to laundry
  • Ensure spray bottles are labeled correctly (foam nozzle on disinfectant)
  • Keep carts, supplies and vacuums neat and organized
  • Keep HK closet neat and doors shut
  • Complete work order requests for maintenance on a daily and timely basis.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist as necessary with special projects and renovations.
  • Report any unsafe conditions to leadership.
  • Provide assistance to other employees and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.
  • Provide training to new property level support as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
