Summary: This national sales leader is responsible for driving sales growth by building key relationships with multi-unit restaurants, hotels, and other customers and growing sales volume for the Away from Home Division. This person develops and executes strategic sales plans, builds and maintains relationships with national and regional multi-unit restaurant, c-store, and other foodservice customers to achieve sales objectives. Drives retention and account growth by delivering customer focused solutions developed through understanding the customer’s business needs and helping them succeed. Develops opportunities for growth in new markets, channels, and customer segments. This role is flexible on the home base location as long as you live in the southern or central US within a one-hour drive from a major airport. The position will require significant overnight travel.

Essential job functions:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue growth, customer retention, and market share objectives within the Away from Home channel.
  • Develop relationships with new account prospects and coordinates sales efforts on existing major customers.
  • Develops and leads new account presentations and proposals. Delivers sales presentations to key clients as well as in coordination with Market Managers. Represents company at trade association meetings. Travel to customer locations for in-person meetings. Attends various food shows corporate outings, golf tournaments and special events.
  • Prepares sales report showing sales volume, pipeline activity, and performance metrics to monitor progress toward business objectives.
  • Oversees new products, flavors, and/or packaging development. Collaborates with a wide variety of cross functional areas such as accounting/finance, marketing, research and development, manufacturing, and logistics to develop and deliver products/specifications responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Analyze sales trends, customer insights, market conditions, and competitive intelligence to drive decision making and customer strategy.
  • Collaborate with Finance to develop pricing, sales forecasts, customer quotes and requests for proposals.
  • Growth Opportunity: This role is expected to increase in scope and may expand into a leadership role managing a team of National Sales Managers in the future.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Advanced knowledge of sales and marketing principles.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, and contract negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Deliver sales presentations to large groups and corporate executives.
  • Ability to establish successful working relationships with appropriate industry representatives at all organizational levels.
  • Proficient skill with personal computer and job-related software packages.

Education and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or related field preferred. Three to five years job-related experience in sales, marketing, and contract negotiation OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven success with selling in the food service industry preferred.
