The Willard InterContinental Washington, DC is one of the most iconic hotels in the Nation's Capital. Since 1818, the Willard InterContinental Hotel has played host to the world's social and political elite. About the Doorperson position
Are you courteous, alert, and passionate about delivering a warm welcome? We are looking for a Doorperson who will be the first point of contact for our guests, creating a positive and lasting first impression through professional, attentive, and friendly service.
A little taste of your day-to-day:
Every day is different, but you'll mostly be:
  • Greeting guests warmly upon arrival and offering assistance promptly.
  • Opening doors and welcoming guests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Assisting with traffic flow at the hotel entrance and ensuring guest safety.
  • Assist with luggage handling as necessary.
  • Coordinating with Bell Desk and Front Office teams for seamless guest arrivals and departures.
  • Calling taxis, assisting with transportation arrangements, and managing guest drop-offs and pickups.
  • Maintaining cleanliness, order, and presentation of the hotel entrance and driveway area.
  • Supporting guests with basic inquiries and directing them to the appropriate departments.
  • Representing the hotel brand with professionalism, courtesy, and confidence at all times.

What we need from you:
  • Previous experience as a Doorperson, Bell Attendant, or similar guest-facing role, preferably in a hotel environment.
  • Friendly, polite, and service-oriented personality.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
  • Carrying, pushing, or lifting items weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Well-groomed appearance and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to remain calm, alert, and courteous at all times.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

What you can expect from us:
We give our people everything they need to succeed. From a competitive salary that rewards all your hard work to a wide range of benefits designed to help you live your best work life - including a full uniform, impressive room discounts and some of the best training in the business.

An employee's pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k, and many other benefits to eligible employees.
You can apply for this role through the link below (or through the internal career site if you are a current employee).
Note: No amount of pay is considered wages or compensation until earned, vested, and determinable. The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, or any other form of compensation that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company's sole discretion, consistent with the law.
