Job description

Description:
Falls Church City Public Schools is seeking Homebound/Homebased teachers for the school year.
Job Summary:

Homebound instruction is academic instruction provided to students who are confined at home or in a health care facility for periods that would prevent regular school attendance based upon medical certification of need by a treating physician, nurse practitioner, psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse practitioner, or licensed clinical psychologist and are unable to attend school because of a physical or mental health condition.  Homebound instruction is designed to provide temporary continuity of educational services between the classroom and home or health care facility. The goal of Homebound services is to keep the student current with classroom instruction and to facilitate the student's return to the current classroom setting as soon as possible.

Homebound Instruction Services ensure that every student that qualifies for homebound services remains educationally engaged as a learner and socio-emotionally connected with Falls Church City Public Schools as they prepare to return to their school community. Homebound teachers help to provide a seamless transition for each student that qualifies for homebound services, while supporting their instructional program by providing high quality teachers, individualized curriculum and resources, and consistent and efficient practices that support student engagement and connectedness.
