Section Head, Cardiac Imaging and Echocardiography
StartDate: ASAP Pay Rate: $450000.00 - $500000.00


A mid-career, non-invasive cardiologist with advanced cardiac imaging training will serve as the University of Colorado Section Head for Cardiac Imaging, overseeing echocardiography, cardiac CT, MRI, and nuclear cardiology. This academic leadership role is based at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, the state’s only academic medical center, and focuses on advancing a high-impact multimodality imaging program.


The position includes leadership across clinical care, research, and education, with opportunities for program development, faculty mentorship, and academic growth. Efforts are supported by a $30 million philanthropic investment to establish CU Anschutz as a national leader in advanced cardiac imaging.


Opportunity Highlights

  • Approximately 60% clinical / 40% administrative, teaching, and research, flexible based on candidate interests
  • Lead and oversee a multimodality cardiac imaging program (echo, nuclear, CT, MRI) in collaboration with Radiology (for CT, MRI); supervise sub-directors and report to the Division Head
  • Expand cardiac imaging research, faculty, and training programs, supported by a $30M programmatic investment
  • Serve as the liaison between Cardiology and UCHealth/University of Colorado Hospital, the #1 hospital in Colorado
