Job description

Bolton & Menk has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer, PE to join our Regional Sewer & Water Services team in the Twin Cities Metro. We are looking to add a Project Engineer, PE who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Communities! As a Project Engineer, you will spend the majority of your time assisting project managers in design and construction phase activities for sewer and water utility projects. You will assist our team in achieving our belief that all people should live in safe, sustainable, and beautiful communities. We take pride in our ability to provide technical planning and engineering services to make that happen.
We are looking for candidates who possess a high capacity for self-motivation and can apply their knowledge of sewer and water utility engineering to a variety of projects. In addition, you must be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and staff from various agencies.
What You Will Be Doing:
  • Assisting the Bolton & Menk RSWS Team with preliminary planning, design and construction phase activities on infrastructure projects.
  • Researching and preparing preliminary reports and feasibility studies.
  • Assisting with project design and developing plans and specifications and preparing quantity take-off estimates and project cost estimates.
  • Assisting with holding informational meetings to explain construction impacts to our clients and their residents
  • Assist with construction administration duties such as providing general oversight, attending progress meetings, review of submittals, preparing contract change documents, preparing pay applications, and interacting with contractors, sub-contractors, client staff.

What We Are Looking For:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited post-secondary institution
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
  • 5-10 years' progressive experience in municipal or infrastructure design
  • Experience in plan and specification development with construction contract administration
  • Working knowledge and skills in CAD and design software (i.e. AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation).
  • Possess a valid driver's license as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required

Bolton & Menk will currently not be providing visa sponsorship or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $120,000 depending on years of experience and credentials
Bolton & Menk is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to specific geographic location.
