Job description

ADEC is a non-profit agency that advocates for and serves individuals with developmental disabilities to live a life full of informed choice and possibility. ADEC provides a range of services in both Elkhart and St. Joseph counties, including residential, day services, therapies and employment services.

The Position:

The Group Home Manager is responsible for day-to-day activities of a group home with individuals served to ensure active treatment and increased independence for all individuals served in compliance with all state and federal guidelines. Also, being responsible for day-to-day supervision for all group home staff while helping with other direct support professional duties as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise existing staff, including initial and ongoing training, interviewing, and selecting new hires, scheduling, setting work hours

• Conducting annual evaluations, disciplines, and discharges as needed

• Manage annual budgets, bank accounts, ordering house supplies, and grocery shopping ensuring clients do not lose Medicaid benefits

• Flexibility with filling in scheduling gaps as needed (2pm to 10pm, noon to 8pm, 10pm to 8am, 8am to 4pm)

• Ensuring outlook calendar is updated while communicating to outside departments as needed for hiring, and client needs

• Maintain Files and documentations of clients and employees

• Assisting with Direct Support duties as needed

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a human services field preferred, or three years related work experience

• One year of supervisory experience preferred

• Ability to lift 60 pounds

• Valid driver’s license

• Proof of car insurance

• Pass background and negative drug test
