Job description

We are seeking a Group Home Manager to become a part of our team! You will coordinate medical and health services in the group home for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Location: Kanata, Ontario
Start Date: March 15, 2026
Term/Status: Permanent Full Time
Schedule/Hours: Mon 08:00-15:30, Tues 08:00-15:30, Wed 09:00-16:30, Thurs 10:00-17:30, Fri 09:00-16:30 Total - 37.5 hours per week

The Role:

The Manager ensures the group home setting provides a home-like, comfortable living space and opportunities for individuals to develop life skills to their desire and potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee medical and health service activities and personnel
  • Plan and coordinate health services
  • Work collaboratively with physicians to implement appropriate day to day healthcare programs
  • Maintain a clean environment to ensure patient safety
  • Establish and enforce healthcare policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Social Sciences, Social Services, or related field and/or degree/diploma in working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • 2 years of experience in a residential setting, 3 years of experience in adult disabilities training
  • 1 year of supervisor experience.
  • Ability to work under pressure and strict deadlines.
  • Must be able to perform lifts and transfers of 40lbs.
  • Experience working in Geriatric care and knowledge of Dementia an asset
  • Positive behaviour support training preferred
  • Criminal/Vulnerable Record Clearance
  • Medical Clearance
  • TB Test Clearance
  • Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
  • Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Willingness to obtain an Unrestricted Class 4 Driver’s License during probation period
  • Valid First Aid/CPR
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication (bilingualism an asset)
  • Basic computer literacy - making reports, sending emails, etc.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada
