ABOUT THE ROLE

A Packaging Engineer designs, develops, and tests protective, cost-effective, and sustainable packaging solutions for products. They ensure product safety during transport, manage material specifications, and optimize packaging processes to meet regulatory, quality, and environmental standards.

Focus:Focuses on the design, development, and implementation of packaging solutions to ensure product protection, quality, and compliance. Emphasizes execution, technical accuracy, and continuous improvement of packaging processes and performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • 1. Design packaging solutions that protect and preserve products during transportation, storage and handling.
  • 2. Conducting feasibility studies to determine the suitability of packaging solutions for specific products.
  • 3. Analysing data and researching to improve the packaging process and implementing relevant solutions.
  • 4. Developing and executing standard operating procedures and guidelines for product packaging in the company.
  • 5. Ensure consistency and quality of packaging across the organisation.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONSRequired
  • 1. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software with project management skills.
  • 2.testing expertise (ASTM/ISTA)
  • 3.Bachelor’s degree in product designing, packaging or related engineering fields.
  • 4. 3+ years of experience in packaging design and development
  • 5. Strong knowledge of packaging technology, materials and design principles with knowledge of testing methods, regulations and standards for packaging
  • 6. Familiarity with production equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • 7. Understanding of sustainability and environmental issues related to packaging.
  • 8. Strong creativity skills for developing unique packaging solutions using current trends.
  • 9. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
