Live In Forward Observations Group information

What is a Live In Forward Observations Group?

Live In Forward Observations Group refers to individuals or teams who reside on-site, often in military or security contexts, to observe, gather intelligence, and report on activities in a specific area. Their main duties typically involve monitoring for security threats, relaying real-time information, and sometimes coordinating with other units for rapid response. These groups play a crucial role in maintaining situational awareness and ensuring the safety of assets or personnel by providing firsthand, continuous observation.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Live In Forward Observations Group team member?

To thrive as a Live-In Forward Observations Group team member, you generally need a background in behavioral health, crisis intervention, or related fields, often supported by relevant certifications or experience. Familiarity with documentation systems, observation protocols, and incident reporting tools is important for accurate and timely record-keeping. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential for supporting clients in high-intensity environments. These skills ensure client safety, effective intervention, and compliance with regulatory standards in behavioral health settings.

What are some unique challenges faced by members of a Live In Forward Observations Group, and how can candidates prepare for them?

Members of a Live-In Forward Observations Group often operate in remote or austere environments for extended periods, requiring adaptability, resilience, and strong situational awareness. Team members must be comfortable with limited resources, irregular schedules, and the need for effective communication under pressure. Preparing for this role involves developing both physical endurance and mental flexibility, as well as familiarity with surveillance technology and field reporting protocols. Collaboration and trust within the team are essential, as daily responsibilities frequently involve coordinating observations and sharing critical information.

KP836 - 2x Live-In/Live-Out Career ROTA Nannies San Francisco, CA

British American Household Staffing

Full-time

Medical, Retirement

Posted 17 days ago

Job description

A warm, active family in Presidio Heights, San Francisco, is seeking two exceptional career ROTA nannies to help care for their son, born in June 2026. The anticipated schedule will be 1-2 weeks/1-2 weeks off, depending on the final team structure and the needs of the family.

This position will ideally begin in mid-December or early January, with the possibility of an earlier start for the right candidate.

The family prioritizes creating a loving, kind, curious, and emotionally supportive home. The family are seeking seasoned professionals who can support this environment and understand the importance of smooth handoffs, consistent routines, and excellent communication between caregivers.

There are three accommodation arrangements available, depending on the successful candidates’ circumstances and final alignment with the family:

  • Live-in: Live-in the family’s home during working rotations and live-out when off-duty
  • Private accommodation provided: Provision of a bedroom in a private apartment close to family’s home during working rotations, and live-out when off-duty.
  • Live-out: A fully live-out arrangement for suitable local candidates (both during working rotations and off duty).

Both parents work. Dad travels frequently, and Mom will spend significant time at home and with their son. They are looking for nannies who will build a close, collaborative partnership with Mom day to day—sharing observations, ideas, and responsibilities while helping create a consistent and nurturing environment for their son.

This is a long-term opportunity, and the family hopes to find candidates who are excited to become an integral part of their lives and to play a meaningful role in their son’s growth and development for years to come

  • Provide loving, attentive, and developmentally appropriate care for baby.
  • Foster a nurturing environment that encourages curiosity, confidence, learning, and emotional development.
  • Plan engaging, age-appropriate activities, including reading, play, outings, and enrichment opportunities.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for baby and keep his groceries and supplies well stocked.
  • Maintain all aspects of baby’s care, including bottles, laundry, nursery, clothing, toys, and play areas.
  • Drive baby to appointments, activities, classes, and playdates.
  • Communicate proactively regarding feeding, sleep, developmental milestones, schedules, supplies, and observations.
  • Partner closely with Mom and the second ROTA nanny to ensure consistency in terms of routines, expectations, and caregiving.
  • Anticipate needs, solve problems proactively, and continuously look for thoughtful ways to improve routines and support baby's development.
  • Maintain exceptionally high standards of cleanliness, organization, hygiene, and safety throughout all aspects of baby's environment.
  • Travel with the family, both domestically and internationally.

The ideal candidate is an exceptional career nanny who combines extensive experience and expertise with warmth, professionalism, and a genuine passion for child development. The family is seeking someone who is intellectually curious, committed to lifelong learning, and dedicated to continually expanding their knowledge, embracing new research and best practices, and refining their approach to caregiving.

Candidates should ideally possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience caring for infants and toddlers, with a distinguished career as a long-term professional nanny.
  • Previous ROTA experience is required.
  • A relevant educational background in early childhood education, child development, nursing, psychology, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of child development, infant milestones, and current safety recommendations, combined with an intellectual curiosity and commitment to continually learning, staying current with research, and refining their approach to caregiving.
  • A warm, patient, kind, curious, and emotionally attuned caregiving style, with excellent judgment and a calm, reassuring presence that inspires trust and confidence.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, initiative, and reliability, with the ability to anticipate needs and proactively solve problems.
  • Outstanding communication skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence, with the ability to build a genuine, collaborative partnership with an involved parent while working seamlessly alongside extended family members and another ROTA nanny.
  • Exceptionally high standards for cleanliness, organization, hygiene, and safety.
  • Open to feedback and excited to grow alongside the family in a long-term role.
  • Pediatric CPR and First Aid certified, with outstanding references from long-term families.
  • A valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • A valid passport and the ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Candidates must:

  • Be TrustLine certified or willing to obtain TrustLine certification.
  • Hold current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with an excellent driving record (driving is an essential part of the role).
  • Hold a valid passport and be comfortable traveling with the family approximately once per month, both domestically and internationally.
  • Be comfortable caring for baby independently if both parents are traveling.
  • Have outstanding references from ideally long-term employment
  • Have exceptionally high standards for cleanliness, organization, and safety.

  • $200,000 annually
  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits + 401(k).
  • Discretionary annual bonus.
  • A long-term position with a warm, respectful family committed to building a collaborative relationship with their nanny team.
  • The opportunity to become a trusted and valued partner in raising the family’s child during his earliest and most important developmental years.
